Stockalyze

There is a huge amount of information to process when it comes to stock price data. To make it easier to analyze, Stockalyze can illustrate this information in a wide variety of graphs and charts. It allows you to view the data for different time periods, customize the appearance of your graphs and more.

You can choose between two Stockalyze versions. The Lite edition is free and you can use its core functions without any restrictions. If you decide to buy a license for the Pro version, you will be able to define your own trading system.

It should be obvious that you need to acquire stock price data, before you can build any charts. Fortunately, Stockalyze allows you to download such data from Yahoo. You can find a large number of symbols, neatly categorized, on a separate window. All you have to do is select one or more symbols and hit a Download option. Once downloaded, you will have to select a symbol again, when you generate a new chart.

Charts are generated instantly, regardless of the selected symbols, and they provide up to date information. You can zoom in and out, to see the statistics for a longer or a shorter time period. Alternatively, you may select a series of options, located on a toolbar, to display the statistics on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. It is also possible to switch between different chart styles, like candle, bar or line.

In addition to a symbol's chart, you can find a volume indicator, on the same window. Furthermore, you may add many more indicators, beneath the existing charts. The software places numerous indicator types at your disposal, which are neatly categorized on a tabbed window. After selecting an indicator, you can specify a time period and make a few adjustments to the graph's appearance. Charts can be saved in the software's native format or exported in graphical formats, like JPG, PNG, BMP and others.
